EEN DIALOOG TUSSEN GOOISE EN BOSNISCHE KUNSTENAARS

Internationale uitwisseling beroepsgroepen helpt
Als boardmember van de Europese beroepsvereniging voor historici, Euroclio, bezocht ik augustus jl. Serajewo.
Bosnische-, Kroatische-, Servische- en Albanese historici proberen daar met vallen en opstaan hun gemeenschappelijke oorlogsverleden een plek te geven binnen de Europese context.
Internationale uitwisseling binnen beroepsgroepen helpt om positieve verbindingen tussen mensen in Europa te leggen. Dat geldt zeker voor kunstenaars. Vanuit hun professie zijn zij van nature geneigd buiten grenzen en bestaande kaders te denken.
Ik ben daarom blij met het Bosnië-project van het Huis van de Kunsten. Het is een bouwsteen die lucht en ruimte geeft voor een nieuwe gemeenschappelijke toekomst. Elbert Roest-Burgemeester en Historicus
Kunstenaars zijn door de oorlog niet veranderd
In 2006 kreeg ik het idee als Nederlandse burger met Bosnische afkomst een culturele uitwisseling tussen mijn Moederland en Nederland te organiseren. Waarom:
Bosnië heeft een oorlog imago, zoals iedereen weet. Door een langdurige burgeroorlog raakten kunst en culturele identiteit op de achtergrond.
Kunst is een verrijking voor een cultuur en dat geldt voor ieder land, maar het heeft ook te maken met Europese identiteit. Bosnië heeft zeker een hoog Europees niveau ook al is dat op dit moment niet zichtbaar door de oorlog en de problemen daar omheen.
De kunstenaars in mijn land zijn door de oorlog niet veranderd en zij willen nog steeds deel uitmaken van de eigentijdse Europese culturele wereld.
Het is belangrijk om contact en vriendschap tussen kunstenaarsgroepen mogelijk te maken: wij zullen onze 2 culturen presenteren naar de alle bevolkingen toe. De organisatie van het Huis van de Kunsten heeft zich ingezet om samen met mij Gooise kunstenaars te selecteren voor dit project.
Ik ben blij dat het Museum voor eigentijdse kunst in mijn moederstad Zenica en galeries in het dichtbij gelegen Visoko en Sarajewo het werk van Gooise kunstenaars willen presenteren .
Een belangrijk thema binnen het project is de emancipatie en vrijheid.
De expositie in het Huizer museum , en in de diverse locaties daaromheen zullen een beeld geven van het werk van jonge en veelbelovende Bosnische kunstenaars.
Ik zal als projectleider mij enthousiast inzetten bij deze culturele diplomatie.

De kracht van het kunstenaarschap in alle tijden
Het uitgangspunt van dit project is een uitwisseling tussen professionele eigentijdse kunstenaars die op geheel eigen wijze bezig zijn.
In de contacten met Bosnië zijn we ondersteund door de Huizer kunstenaar Ivan Mijatovic, van oorsprong Bosnier, die de taal beheerst.
Het accent ligt op artistieke ontwikkeling en professionaliteit, los van politieke en economische omstandigheden. Het gaat om de kracht van het kunstenaarschap in alle tijden en alle culturen.
Als projectleider van het Huis van de Kunsten en directeur van het Huizer Museum hoop ik met deze uitwisseling kansen te creëren voor kunstenaars op internationaal niveau. Voor het publiek is er een mogelijkheid om te ontdekken op welke manieren Bosnische en Nederlandse kunstenaars omgaan met kunst en hun kunstenaarschap en hoe de culturele en artistieke verschillen doorwerken in de kunstwerken. Een boeiende confrontatie.

Een bijdrage aan sociale en artistieke diplomatie
Het Huis van de Kunsten is opgericht in 2007, vanuit het kunstenaars initiatief de Gooise Kunstkring. Kunstenaars zochten verbinding en samenwerking met elkaar, en zo is onze organisatie in korte tijd gegroeid. In dit uitwisselings programma willen we contact maken met meer collega's en professionals, in een Europese context.
Vanuit onze regio realiseren we in 2009 met minimale middelen, maar met maximale inzet, een uitwisseling met kunstenaars groepen in Bosnië .
Daar zijn de thema's kunstenaarschap, onafhankelijkheid, culturele achtergrond, en professionaliteit weer van een andere orde, maar waarschijnlijk net zo gecompliceerd.
We onderzoeken, werken samen en proberen de achtergronden te leren kennen van andere culturen, door kunst en projecten.
De verbinding die we maken en de samenwerking die daaruit ontstaat is facinerend, en hopelijk een bijdrage aan sociale en artistieke diplomatie en wederzijds begrip.

The positive effects of the international exchange
Last August I visited Serajewo as a boardmember of the European Association of Historians, Euroclio. There, Bosnian, Croatian, Servian and Albanian historians were in the difficult process of evaluating their common history of war.
Fostering exchanges within professional groups will stimulate positive liaisons between the European citizens at large. This is especially true for artists. It lies in the nature of their profession to cross mental borders and existing frameworks.
I think the Bosnia-project of the House of the Arts is great initiative and a contribution to giving breathing room for a new common future.

Artists have not been changed by the war
As a Dutch citizen of Bosnian descent I came up with the idea of an cultural exchange in 2006. Why? As every one knows Bosnia contends with a war-torn image. The arts and cultural identity of Bosnia were pushed to the background by years of civil war. The quality of culture of Bosnia can rank itself among the other European nations, although it is not always visible because of the scars the war has inflicted. Art enriches the culture of individual nations, but at the same time it reaches out for contact with the rest of the world. Through the war-years the quality of the artists in my country of birth has not changed and they still want to partake in the developments of the contemporary European art scene .
It is important to facilitate contacts and friendships between artists groups of other nations: to show our culture to the citizens of the hosting country. The organisation of the Dutch ''The House of the Arts' has supported me in the selection of the artists in the Gooi region of the Netherlands for this project.
I am delighted that the Museum of Contemporary Art in my home town of Zenica and the galleries in the nearby towns of Visoko and Sarajevo will exhibit the work of the Gooi artists.
Two important themes within the project will be emancipation and freedom.
The up and coming exhibition in the Netherlands in the Municipal Museum of Huizen and in the various locations in the Gooi region will give a good impression of the work of young and promising artists of Bosnia.
As project coordinator I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly and with enthusiasm to this cultural and diplomatic exchange.
The power of artistry throughout history
The starting point of this project is an exchange of professional contemporary artists in all their individuality.
In the contacts with Bosnia we have been supported by Ivan Mijatovic, Bosnian by birth and speaking the native language.
The focus is artistic development and professionalism disregarding political and economic factors.
The crucial subject is the power of true artistry of all times and cultures.
As project leader of the House of the Arts and director of the Huizer Museum I hope to be able to give opportunities to artists on an international level.
Spectators can discover how Bosnian and Dutch artists work and how cultural and artistic differences are reflected in their work: an interesting confrontation.

A contribution to social and artistic diplomacy
The House of the Arts was founded in 2007 from within the artists initiative called The Gooi Art Association. It's artists were looking for common binding factors and were strongly interested in initiating concerted actions like mutual exhibition witin their geographical region.
In this Bosnian-Gooi exchange program we -as artists - would like to get in contact with more colleagues and art professionals, in a European context.
From our Gooi region we will support this venture of exchange with Bosnian artists with minimal financial means but with a large amount of enthusiasm.
In Bosnia the themes of artistry, independance, cultural background and professionalism may be coloured by their native heritage, but these concepts are just as complicated in our culture.
We will investigate, work together and try to understand each others cultural heritage through art and projects.
The liaisons we create and the cooporation which will be the result promises to be fascinating and hopefully will be a contribution to social and artistic diplomacy and mutual understanding.

INTERNACIONALNA RAZMENA GRUPA KOJA SE BAVE ISTOM PROFESIJOM POMAŽE
Ja kao član odbora Evropskog profesionalnog društva za istoričare, Euricio, posetio sam u avgustu Sarajevo.
Bosanski, hrvatski, srpski i albanski istoričari pokušavaju na sve načine njihovu zajedničku ratnu istoriju da prebole u da joj daju određeno mesto u Evropskom kontekstu. Internacionalna razmena između grupa ljudi koje se bave istom profesijom pomaže da se stvore pozitivne veze među ljudima u Evropi. Ovo se posebno odnosi na umetnike. Oni su, baveći se svojom profesijom po prirodi skloni da razmišljaju van granica postojećih kadrova. Ja se zbog toga radujem bosanskom projektu Kuće Umetnosti. To je karika kojia daje vazduh i prostor za novu zajedničku budućnost.

RAT UMETNIKE NIJE PROMENIO
Ja sam 2006 godine dobio ideju da kao holandski građanin bosanskog porekla organizujem jednu kulturnu razmenu između moje otadžbine i Holandije. Zašto?
Kao što je svima poznato, Bosna ima ratni imidž. Zbog dugotrajnog građanskog rata su umetnost i kulturni identitet otišli u pozadinu.
Umetnost je bogatstvo za svaku kulturu i to se odnosi na svaku zemlju, ali to ima veze i sa evropskim identitetom. Bosna ima sigurno visok evropski nivo i ako to u ovom trenutku nije vidno zbog rata i problema koje je on prouzrokovao.
Rat umetnike u mojoj zemlji nije promenio i oni žele još uvek da učestvuju u sadašnjem evropskom kulturnom svetu.
Važno je da se omogući kontakt i prijateljstvo između grupa umetnika. Mi ćemo da presentujemo naše dve kulture svim narodima. Organizacija Kuće Umetnosti se zauzela da zajedno sa mnom selektira umetnike iz društva Gooise Kunstenaars za ovaj projekt.
Ja sam radostan da je Muzej Savremene Umetnosti u mom rodnom gradu Zenica kao i galerije u obližnjim mestima Visoko i Sarajevo, umetnička dela umetnika iz društva Gooise Kunstenaars žele da presentiraju.
Važna tema u okviru ovog projekta je emancipacija i sloboda. Izložba u muzeju u mestu Huizen u Holandiji, i drugim lokacijama u blizini, pružiće sliku rada mladih bosanskih umetnika sa velikim potencijalom. Ja ću kao vođa projekta sa puno etuzijazma da se zauzmem za ovu kulturnu diplomatiju.

SNAGA UMETNOSTI U SVIM VREMENIMA
Polazna tačka ovog projekta je razmena između profesionalnih savremenih umetnika koji se na sopstven način bave svojim zanimanjem. Umetnik iz mesta Huizen u Holandiji, Ivan Mijatović, po poreklu bosanac koji govori svoj maternji jezik, pomogao nam je u kontaktima sa Bosnom. Akcenat je uperen na umetnički razvoj i profesio-nalnost ne uzimajući u obzir političke i ekonomske okolnosti. Radi se o snazi umetnosti u svim vremenima i svim kulturama.
Kao vođa projekta Kuće Umetnosti i kao direktor Huizen muzeja nadam se da će ova razmena pružiti šansu
umetnicima na internacionalnom nivou. Posetioci će imati mogućnost da otkriju na koji se način bosanski i holandski umetnici ophode prema umetnosti i na koji se način njom bave i moći će da vide kako kulturne i umetničke razlike dolaze do izražaja u njihovim umetničkim delima. Ovo je veoma zanimljiva konfrontacija.

DOPRINOS SOCIJALNOJ I UMETNIČKOJ DIPLOMATIJI
Kuća Umetnosti je osnovana 2007 godine na inicijativu umetnika iz udruženja de Gooise Kunstkring.
Umetnici su tražili kontakt i međusobnu saradnju, i tako je naša organizacija u kratkom periodu narasla.
U ovom programu razmene želimo da stupimo u kontakt sa kolegama i profesionalcima u evropskom kontekstu.
Iz našeg regiona mi smo uspeli da realizujemo u 2009 godini, sa minimalnim sredstvima i maksimalnim zauzimanjem, razmenu grupa umetnika u Bosni.
Tu su na teme kao što su: bavljenje umetnošću, nezavisnost, kulturno poreklo i profesionalnost, gleda drugačije ali možda isto tako komplikovano kao ovde. Mi istražujemo, radimo zajedno i pokušavamo da upoznamo pozadinu i druge kulture kroz umetnost i projekte. Veza koju stvaramo i saradnja koja iz nje potiče je fascinirajuća i nadam se da daje doprinos socijalnoj i umetničkoj diplomatiji i međusobnom razumevanju.
